Technology of cleaning and conservation of electrical equipment

Special liquids and pastes for cleaning and conservation electrical motors and switchgears.

This chart describes technology of cleaning hard pollution in high and low voltage motor windings and switch-gears. Industrial pollution as old hard grease mixed with dusts could be very dangerous for correct working electrical devices because electrical strength depends on cleanness of insulation. Dirty electrical devices are signifying fire hazard and start machine problems or stator ventilation problems.

  Essence of method: Special liquids, which have electrical strength over 200 kV/cm, are compressed in special pomp to 250 bars. Going through electro-insulated wash pipe and nozzle, cleaning liquid has such high outlet velocity that could remove almost all impurities from inaccessible places. This method is excellent for cleaning motors windings, coils, switchboxes and group of wires, which work in hard circumstances for example under turbine set.
     
Effectiveness:These liquids can resolve greases and much other pollution but are very friendly for windings and workers. Low chemical aggressive is compensated by power of high velocity of cleaning stream. In results you can have cleaning technology for quick and effective cleaning repaired devices. The stream can remove pollution from almost nooks and chambers, gives you great quality and safe your time and money.
     

 

 

   Profit :

1. Multiples shorten time of cleaning. 

  1. Above showed 6 MW generator has been cleaned by 1 day instead about 10 days with old method (rugs and naphtha). Quality of cleaning was so good that winding resistance became 4 times higher and absorption coefficient increased from 1.05 to 1.90. 

  2. Especially good effects are during cleaning of direct-current motors and synchronous machines because these kind of machines are shorten and often have dismounting housings. In these cases rotor may be in stator without moving and after cleaning machine can be almost instantly ready to work.

    Cleaning 0.4 kV switch-gears could be so fast that 1 switchbox with many different devices could be clean under 5 minutes. 
    If you want to clean switching station with for example 20 switch boxes, you need to only 2 hours switch off time. The same work with rugs, brushes and naphtha require dismantling all fuses, circuit breakers with extinguishing chambers, terminal strips and cleaning each part separate during many days.

2. Excellent quality.

  1. All correct cleaned windings and coils are so good degreased that are able to be paint with new varnishes or enamels.

  2. Cleaned switchboxes are colourfully because cleaning stream remove pollution from all conductors, group of wires and other devices. Made of ink or markers describes of devices are safe because cleaning liquids do not dissolve once.

  3. If you do not decide on painting cleaned windings we recommend using special electrical impregnator which can protect your machine against moisture and water from 0.5 to even 2 years. Our film is showing small commutator machine, which was impregnated and was undergone water test.

3. Security for workers and machines.

  1. Workers who use this technology should clean switch-off devices but high electrical strength of liquids and electro-insulated wash pipe protects them against erroneous work in switch-on area

  2. Owing to high electrical strength of cleaning liquids, during cleaning of motors staff can measure the winding resistance and often find the weakest part of windings and clean it better.

  3. In normal circumstances (20oC and 760 mmHg) cleaning liquids evaporate after 20 to 40 minutes and switchboard can be switch-on.

  4. Technology is friendly for people because agents are without chlorine and fluorine impurities.

Equipment and agents for GMP cleaning electrical devices.

1. Pomp

For cleaning with special liquids we recommend GMP260. It is pomp with suitable delivery and pressure. Cleaning pomp for water cannot be use because has too much delivery and often pressured water is use for pomp cooling. GMP260 has electro-insulated wash pipe and nozzle which can be regulate and make cleaning stream from sharp to dispersal shape. Regulation range of pressure is from 0 to 170 bar. If you need pressure over 170 bar we can give you offer with pomp to 250 bar. From our point of view cleaning liquid under pressure over 250 bars has to high outlet velocity and can damage cleaned windings. Whole pomp set is on comfortable trolley where is place for 10 litre can with cleaning liquid.

 

2. Cleaning Agents

  1. Preliminary softening agent GMP-Softener. It is a little gelled liquid, which after spraying cannot flow off from vertical surfaces and can make soften the hardest grease pollution. Even these, which ones have been on windings by long time and are over-burn. It has ignition point over 60oC and density 0,84 g/cm3 . During from 5 to 20 minutes agent makes pollution softer and will be ready to wash away by main cleaning liquid GMP-Cleaner.

  1.  Main cleaning liquid GMP-Cleaner. This kind of liquid is a excellent insulator with electrical strength over 209 kV/cm, is able to compress about 250 bars and use in this technology can remove hard pollution. Very good ignition point 64oC and self ignition point over 230oC gives comfortable working conditions. For example works in room temperature about 20oC is possible for smokers and other low energy seats of fire. From the same point of view staffs are be able to measure windings resistance during cleaning work.
  1. Impregnator for electrical devices GMP-Impregnator. It is special liquid than can displace moister and water from windings and can protect devices against air moister. Work temperature 180oC, ignition point before evaporation 64oC, electrical strength 40kV/cm and density 
    0,81 g/cm3 . The parameters and nearby picture are the proof of high quality of this product. GMP-Impregnat can be use on contacts over 
    6 V[RMS]. 20 minutes after spraying device is able to switch-on.


  1. Vacuum cleaner for final removing pollution from switchbox's floors or lower parts of machine’s housing. For this operation we recommend KÄKCHER Hoover type NT351 Eco or other which is resistant to solvents.
  1. Support spray gun GMP400 Set on nearby picture. It is small low-pressure spray gun for spraying GMP-Softener and GMP-Impregnator or paints. It is supplied 230 V, 50 Hz and equipped in useful nozzles for cleaning closed chambers and paint different enamels. Whole set is in metal case.

Remark: Good cleaned windings are very degreased and hygroscopic. Almost cleaned machines required protection with impregnants. If you don’t have to make better the mechanical strengthening of windings, the GMP-Impregnator is very comfortable and we recommend it.

 

Preliminary calculation for squirrel-cage motor 1250 kW, 6 kV, 3000 r.p.m.

  1. Cleaning circumstances: electrical repair shop, removed rotor;

  2. Type of pollution: old bearing’s oil mixture with coal and plant dust.

  3. Cleaning equipment: Cleaning pomp GMP260, Spray gun GMP400Set, Hoover NT351Eco

  4. Cleaning agents:

    - GMP-Softener: 5 litres, 15,70EUR/litre, amount 78,90EUR;

    - GMP-Cleaner: 60 litres, 14 EUR/litre, amount 880 EUR;

    - GMP-Impregnator: 5 litres, 15,70 EUR/litre, amount 78,90 EUR;

  5. Time of cleaning: 8 hours by 2 workers.

Cleaning and conservation outdoor insulators with special pastes (2 in 1)

Insulators which have to work outdoor are often endangered from many industrial pollution as flue dust, power plants ashes and natural pollution as soils, sea salt or flaying bugs etc. etc. From the other hand shape of high voltage insulators with ceramic and glass surfaces is easy to get at every places. In addition many high voltage insulators are protected with special silicon pastes which lost protecting features during work and have to be removed.

 Essence of cleaning method.

For above reasons we are recommending hand made cleaning with rugs and special cleaning pastes with silicon (2 in 1) called SAKA-REINIGUNGSPASTE. This paste is very effective as a cleaner. During cleaning and evaporation cleaning factors leave silicon layer which is very good on-pasted.

Effectiveness.

During only 1 activity workers make 2 operations, cleaning and conservation. Quality of cleanings factor is so good that it is able to clean even some paints, which sometimes appear after repairing supporting structure. New silicon surface is very good on-pasted for that reason give smooth, thin and hydrophobic layer which suffices for many years. Time between cleaning works depends on local pollution circumstances.
